Schedule
A general framework of the program and the trip. A guiding schedule — subject to change.
Day 0 - Welcome reception
Evening: Initial gathering and welcome reception for participants.
Day 1 - Workshop begins
Morning: Opening general meeting. Werner Herzog will explain the work methodology and reveal the central theme of the workshop. Presentation of the 25 working pairs. Afternoon: Field exploration 1 - group visit to locations. Evening: Ideas 1 - pairs will present their initial ideas.
Day 2 - Field exploration 2
Morning: Field work - filmmakers will visit new locations as a group. Individual or group counseling on students' ideas. Evening: Ideas 2 - pairs will present their ideas to receive feedback from Werner Herzog.
Day 3 - The stories
Morning: Story definition. Dialogue with Werner Herzog focused on his experience and writing methods. Afternoon: Table work - each pair will receive advice on their project. Production table to organize shooting. Evening: Open session - Werner Herzog will share excerpts from his work and answer questions.
Day 4 - Field preparation / Shooting 1
Full day: Field work - each team will work on location with the selected character. Werner Herzog will be available to advise on projects. Evening: Projects 1 - pairs will present their initial ideas and progress.
Day 5 - Shooting 2
Morning and Afternoon: Field work - each team will work on location with the selected character. Werner Herzog will be available to advise. Evening: Projects 2 - presentation of ideas and progress with feedback from Werner Herzog.
Day 6 - Shooting 3
Morning and Afternoon: Field work - each team will work on location with the selected character. Werner Herzog will be available to advise. Evening: Open session - Werner Herzog will share excerpts from his work and answer questions.
Day 7 - Shooting 4 / Editing begins 1
Morning and Afternoon: Field work and editing room. Each team will begin the editing, mixing, and color processes. Werner Herzog will view and advise the first edited pieces.
Day 8 - Editing 2
Morning and Afternoon: Editing room - each team will work on editing, mixing, and color processes. Werner Herzog will be available to view and advise. Evening: Open session - Werner Herzog will share excerpts from his work.
Day 9 - Editing 3
Morning and Afternoon: Editing room - each team will work on editing, mixing, and color processes. Werner Herzog will be available to view and advise. Evening: First part of the screening of completed projects.
Day 10 - Editing 4 - Delivery day
Morning and Afternoon: Editing room - each team will finalize editing, mixing, and color processes. Final editing and export. Short film delivery. Evening: Second part of the screening of completed projects.
Day 11 - Final screening and closing
Morning and afternoon: Screening of completed short films. Evening: Closing of the gathering and closing celebration.
